  • Automatic open and close from one button, about a second each way

Ombriel Loop Sky Blue

Why people switch

Where's your last umbrella?

  • Left on the train. The ring clips to your bag, so it leaves when you do.
  • Inside out on the bridge. Ten ribs flex in a gust and spring back instead of snapping.
  • Dripping in the hallway. Hang it by the ring on a hook or a rail, so it dries off the floor.

The ring handle

Hang it anywhere

The handle is a sprung ring. Open the gate, hook it on, let go. It stays where you put it.

  • Ombriel Loop umbrella in beige hanging by its ring handle from the strap of a navy tote bag on a rainy city street

    Bag strap

Clips to the strap of your bag. Hands free on the walk to the station.

  • Ombriel Loop umbrella in forest green hanging by its ring handle from a wall hook next to a navy coat

Dries by the door instead of in a puddle.

  • Ombriel Loop umbrella in navy clipped by its ring handle to a pram handlebar

What makes it a Loop

Six decisions that separate it from the umbrella you last left on a train.

The handle

A ring, not a grip

The handle is a closed loop with a sprung gate, like a carabiner. Open the gate, hook it onto a bag strap, a coat hook or a rail, and let go. It stays where you put it and your hands stay free.

  • Sprung gate
  • One-button open and close
  • Matte soft-touch finish

The frame

Ten ribs that bend and come back

Each of the ten ribs is aluminium alloy with a fibreglass tail section, joined in a honeycomb-style triangular frame. In a gust they flex instead of snapping at the joint, then return to shape. Rated for gusts to 31 mph, Beaufort force 6.

  • Alloy and fibreglass
  • Gusts to 31 mph

Sun

Black inside, cool underneath

The inside of the canopy carries a black coating that blocks 99% of UV rays, rated UPF50+, so it works as a parasol in summer and stays noticeably cooler to stand under.

Beads, then shakes off

A high-density pongee canopy with a water-repellent coating, rated at a 1500 mm water column against an industry norm of 300 mm. Water beads on the surface and a single shake clears most of it.

Questions

Before you buy

All questions
Will it flip inside out?

Ten fibreglass-reinforced ribs flex in a gust and return instead of snapping. The frame is rated for gusts to 31 mph, Beaufort force 6, roughly 25–31 mph.

How do I close it and open it again?

Press the button once to open. Press it again and the canopy closes, but the shaft stays extended. That is normal. Hold the handle and push the shaft firmly down until it clicks and locks. It is stiff for the first few goes while the spring is new. Once it clicks, the button opens it again.

How heavy is it?

About 490 g. It folds to 37 cm by 6 cm and opens to 105 cm across.

Will the clip scratch my bag?

The ring is moulded plastic with a matte soft-touch finish and the gate is sprung closed. Clip it to a strap, hook or D-ring rather than a fabric loop.

What if it breaks?
