The usual problems

Why most compact umbrellas end up in a bin

Problem

It is at home when it rains.

Ombriel

It lives on your bag. The ring handle clips to a strap or a hook, so it is with you without being carried.

Problem

One gust and it is inside out.

Ombriel

Ten ribs, fibreglass reinforced. The ribs flex under load and return, instead of snapping at the joint like a six-rib frame. Rated for Beaufort force 6 winds.

Problem

The button jams, the strap is lost.

Ombriel

Auto open and close, strap attached. One thumb does both. The hook-and-loop strap is sewn to the canopy, so it cannot go missing.

What makes it a Loop

Six decisions that separate it from the umbrella you last left on a train.

The handle

A ring, not a grip

The handle is a closed loop with a sprung gate, like a carabiner. Open the gate, hook it onto a bag strap, a coat hook or a rail, and let go. It stays where you put it and your hands stay free.

  • Sprung gate
  • One-button open and close
  • Matte soft-touch finish

The frame

Ten ribs that bend and come back

Each of the ten ribs is aluminium alloy with a fibreglass tail section, joined in a honeycomb-style triangular frame. In a gust they flex instead of snapping at the joint, then return to shape. Rated for Beaufort force 6 winds.

  • 10 ribs
  • Alloy and fibreglass
  • Rated Beaufort 6

Sun

Black inside, cool underneath

The inside of the canopy carries a black coating that blocks 99% of UV rays, rated UPF50+, so it works as a parasol in summer and stays noticeably cooler to stand under.

Rain

Beads, then shakes off

A high-density pongee canopy with a water-repellent coating, rated at a 1500 mm water column against an industry norm of 300 mm. Water beads on the surface and a single shake clears most of it.

  • Water-repellent canopy
  • 1500 mm water column
  • 3 cm sewn-on strap

Design

One colour, all the way through

Canopy, handle, strap and tip cups are matched in every colourway, in a matte finish that does not show fingerprints. One size, eight colours, and nothing shiny.

  • 8 colourways
  • 105 cm canopy
  • About 490 g

Nobody has ever said “I wish I had left my umbrella at home.”

Questions

Before you buy

All questions
Will it flip inside out?

Ten fibreglass-reinforced ribs flex in a gust and return instead of snapping. The frame is rated for Beaufort force 6, a strong breeze of roughly 25–31 mph.

Is this the same as the £15 carabiner umbrellas online?

The idea of a clip handle is not unique to us. What you pay for here is the ten-rib frame, the auto open-and-close mechanism, the UPF50+ underside, the colour range, a UK-based seller, 14-day returns and a 12-month defect warranty.

How heavy is it?

About 490 g. It folds to 37 cm by 6 cm and opens to 105 cm across.

What if it breaks?

Manufacturing defects are covered for 12 months. Email us a photo and your order number. Damage from misuse is not covered. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, unused and in its packaging. You pay return postage. We refund within 2–3 working days of receiving and checking it; your bank may take a few more days.
